SHAH ALAM, 18 JUNE 2009: The response to the "Love to Save" campaign by DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") surpassed expectations when Malaysians rushed to support their charities of choice since the online campaign began on 1 June 2009. In just 18 days, over RM85,210 was raised and counting.

Dushyan Vaithiyanathan, DiGi's Head of Consumer Marketing said: "We wanted to give everyone, whether they are DiGi customers or not, an opportunity to make a difference with a simple click of the mouse. So, we started this campaign whereby DiGi pledges RM5 every time a registered participant pledges online for their charity of choice.

"DiGi targets to pledge RM150,000 by the end of June and we are calling all Malaysians to take this opportunity to contribute towards a worthy cause at no cost to them. Help us help them."

To date, more than 13,000 people have registered with over 450 personal groups created to support a particular charity from the 14 bodies listed.

The "Love to Save" fund-raising campaign runs from 1 - 30 June 2009 and looks to benefit 14 charitable organisations from the categories of Nature, Social and Health. To support a cause, participants just need to register themselves at www.lovetosave.com.my and then choose a charity from the list provided.

DiGi will pledge RM5 to the charity chosen with each click by a registered participant. They can either support a particular charity as an individual or by creating a group. Each registered user is only allowed to vote for one charity.
