SHAH ALAM, 3 AUGUST 2010: DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") announced yesterday its Hari Hari BlackBerry Mari contest to celebrate the company's 15th anniversary by offering prizes worth over RM 1,000,000 of BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700 with accessories.
Running from 2 August to 15 September 2010, the contest is open to all qualified DiGi customers, who stand a chance to win the 3G-enabled smartphone. Ten BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700 will be given away daily for 45 consecutive days to lucky DiGi customers who correctly answer a designated question via phone.
To qualify for the contest, customers only have to sign up for a new DiGi Internet™ package like DG Smart Plan, Broadband, Internet Unlimited 58 and BlackBerry Unlimited 68 or just activate Weekly Internet 15 and Prepaid BlackBerry package during the contest period. Existing DiGi customers who are active subscribers to any of these DiGi Internet™ plans will automatically qualify for the contest.
Current and new DiGi Prepaid™ and Internet Prepaid™ customers can also qualify by reloading at least RM30 or spending at least RM5 on mobile internet.
On the reasons for this data-centric initiative, DiGi's Chief Executive Officer, Henrik Clausen explained: "The past 15 years saw an explosive growth in the communications industry and DiGi is proud to have played a big part in this achievement. We will continue to push the envelope on innovation to ensure excellent customer experience as means to motivate and encourage our customers to embrace a mobile internet lifestyle.
"Today, about 2.7 million of our customers are actively using our mobile internet and mobile broadband services. With this initiative, we aim to drive mobile internet even further as we continually familiarise Malaysians with the benefits and enjoyment of the mobile internet lifestyle, all day, any day, anywhere."
In the spirit of making it accessible, the DiGi Hari Hari BlackBerry Mari roadshow will be travelling nationwide, including Johor Bharu. It is the latest market centre to be powered by DiGi's Turbo 3G™ network.
Since it was rolled out early this year, DiGi's Turbo 3G™ network in Johor Bharu has reached 41% of the local population, bringing the total population coverage in Malaysia to 35%. "We are still on-track in our service rollout plan and remain focused on delivering quality mobile internet services to more Malaysians this year," commented Clausen.
