DiGi launches 1DiGi1Malaysia microsite

SINGAPORE, 22 JUNE 2011: DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi"), today revealed its 1DiGi1Malaysia micrositaimed at driving a deeper understanding and discussion on the concept of 1Malaysia among DiGi's young subscribers, apart from being a  creative platform to discuss on issues close to Malaysians' heart today.

The site was launched by Dato' Seri Utama Dr. Rais Yatim, the Minister of Information, Communication and Cultural at the Malaysia Pavillion at CommunicAsia, Singapore. The Minister was accompanied by  Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC)'s  Chairman Tan Sri Khalid bin Ramli, DiGi's Chief Executive Officer Henrik Clausen, and  Director of Corporate Affairs, Zaiton Hj Idrus.

According to Zaiton, this 1DiGi1Malaysia site is used to engage DiGi subscribers to express their thoughts and opinions on issues that are close to their hearts. This will be done through the postings of selected topics on DiGi Facebook page.

"As one of the most active Facebook pages among corporations in the country, we believe the DiGi's page will draw these youngsters to visit the 1DiGi1Malaysia site where their comments that are aggregated from the Facebook will also be featured here. We are confident that the various topics highlighted on the page will set off an open forum where DiGi subscribers get the chance to share their point of views on the relevant subject matter," added Zaiton.

"Social media has indeed changed the way the younger generation interacts and communicates, and we're leveraging our presence in social media to help spread a sense of belonging and pride on the unique qualities that make Malaysia and Malaysians special."

1DiGi1Malaysia site will feature the views and perspectives of DiGi customers on several categories of topics including 1Malaysia Values, Community, Culture, Economy, Government, Sports and Makan-makan, among others.
