DiGi is Malaysia's Most Valuable Telecom Brand, says Brand Finance

Shah Alam, 21 March 2012: DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") was recognised as Malaysia's Most Valuable Telecom Brand in the Brand Finance Telecom 500 report announced recently. With a brand value of US$760 million (RM2.3 billion), DiGi is the only telco brand in Malaysia and in the ASEAN region to be given an AA brand rating.

Ranked at #3 after Singtel and Telkom Indonesia in the ASEAN region, DiGi's brand value has reportedly increased by 16.62% over 2011, in tandem with the global average increase of 18%.

Published by Brand Finance plc in association with Total Telecom, Brand Finance Telecoms 500 is a study analyzing the financial value of the world's top 500 telecoms brands globally. Each brand will go through a benchmarking study of strength, risk and future potential of a brand in comparison to other industry-related brands including the brand value as well as a summary measure of the respective brand's financial strength.

DiGi's Chief Marketing Officer Albern Murty who received the award on behalf of the company said: "We are pleasantly surprised to be acknowledged as the country's most valuable telecom brand for 2011 by Brand Finance. This recognition is a powerful affirmation of the efforts made by our employees to create a brand image that our consumers are passionate about."
