DiGi customers win over RM1.41 million in cash from DiGi's Seribu Sejamâ„¢
DiGi wraps up Malaysia's most lucrative cash contest

SHAH ALAM, 2 NOVEMBER 2009: Since Seribu Sejamâ„¢ contest started on 1 September 2009, DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") has awarded cash prizes worth RM1,411,100 million to DiGi customers today. These lucky customers had managed to correctly answer general knowledge questions about Malaysia.

The finalists of the 52-day contest had to collect as many coloured balls as possible within a time frame of 60 seconds. All of them scrambled together inside a specially built "arena" to hunt for specific coloured balls with assigned value. The total value of balls collected determined the cash amount each of them would walk away with.

On the role of the Seribu Sejamâ„¢ contest, DiGi's Head of Product Marketing, Loh Keh Jiat said: "The contest is more than just rewarding our customers for choosing DiGi; it's about enhancing their overall customer experience with relevant activities and promotions that they value.

"We leveraged on the nation's 52th Merdeka celebrations to offer our customers nice surprises like cash for knowing so well about their country's historical and cultural heritage. It also gave us the opportunity to help our customers to better appreciate the ‘1Malaysia' concept even more.

"It was interesting to see how diverse the group of finalists who competed today. We have contestants of different age groups and ethnicity congregating here; the diversity truly reflects what Malaysia is about - a nation rich because of its multi-cultural and multi-ethnic society."

Zainal Abidin bin Ambak, age 48 from Kulai, Johor emerged as the winner with the most cash collected at RM14,500.

The Seribu Sejamâ„¢ contest, which started on 1 September 2009 and ended on 22 October 2009, was kicked off in conjunction with Malaysia's 52nd Merdeka celebrations. For 52 consecutive days, RM1,000 was given away every hour to selected DiGi customers who managed to correctly answer the first question about Malaysia. 52 finalists emerged when they correctly answered the second general knowledge question, qualifying them to compete in the grand finale.
