DiGi brings you higher insurance coverage at affordable prices
Additional coverage to cater to different needs and income groups
SHAH ALAM, 4 JUNE 2009: DiGi is expanding its insurance offering by giving customers the option to purchase higher value insurance coverage via easy SMS activation.
Underwritten by AIG General Insurance, DiGi has introduced two additional plans on top of the free Personal Accident (PA) insurance which will continue to be offered to DiGi customers. For just RM2, a customer will be covered for accidental death or permanent disablement at RM50,000 valid for 30 days. Customers can also opt for a higher coverage of RM100,000 at RM6 for 30 days.
For added convenience, the insurance policy will be renewed automatically at the end of the coverage period. A reminder will be sent 3 days before the renewal date.
According to DiGi's Head of Strategy and New Business, Albern Murty, "This follows the good response from when we launched the free RM10,000 PA insurance last year. While we continue to provide the basic PA coverage for free, we'd like to give customers the option to increase their PA coverage to give them better protection.
"We now have a modular insurance offering that is affordable and easily accessible. This empowers customers to decide on the appropriate level of coverage for themselves and their loved ones," said Albern.
He added that the service immediately reaches out to its 7.2 million customer base, serving as an efficient direct channel for the insurance industry to connect to a large uninsured market in Malaysia.
"We hope to be the conduit that makes life easier for our customers by bringing relevant services to them via easy mobile access," said Albern.
Customers who have already activated their free PA insurance can now increase their coverage with one of the two packages.
DiGi offers customers two simple ways of subscribing for the PA coverage:
1) SMS - Key in INS BUY & send to 2000
2) Online - Log on to www.digi.com.my/insurance
These plans are available to all DiGi postpaid and prepaid customers aged up to 70 years old, limited to one policy per customer. Customers who purchase DiGi's PA insurance will receive instant worldwide coverage against accidental death and permanent disablement. By default, the beneficiary for the insurance coverage will be the customer's next-of-kin.
