Digi brings exciting Pokémon GO experience to Digi Stores nationwide

SUBANG JAYA, 29 August 2022 – Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) today announced a campaign with Niantic, Inc which will transform 237 Digi Stores across Malaysia into Pokémon Gyms for the augmented reality mobile game, Pokémon GO starting from 3 September till 15 October 2022.  

Pokémon GO players can visit any of the 237 Digi Stores to try and defeat Deoxys in all four of its forms or battle to take over the Gym.  Four scheduled raids1 will take place throughout the day at all Digi Stores on 3rd and 4th September 2022. Thereafter, one scheduled raid will be held every day until 30th September 2022. The full list of participating Digi Stores can be found on the official campaign website.  

To add even more excitement to the campaign, all Pokémon GO players regardless of whether they are Digi subscribers, can redeem a free code for an exclusive in-game bundle worth RM10 which includes premium raid passes, available while stocks last. Players simply need to spend a minimum of RM5 on any transaction (includes prepaid reload and postpaid bill payment for any telco as well as bill payment for Astro and other utilities) at the Digi Self-Service Kiosks located at Digi Stores to redeem their free in-game bundle code. Additionally, the first 50 players who walk in to the five selected Digi Stores2  on 3rd September 2022 will receive an in-game bundle worth RM30 each.  

Digi Prepaid and Postpaid users can also purchase a special Unlimited Pokémon GO Pass to enjoy unlimited Internet access to the Pokémon GO app for 7 days for only RM5, giving them the freedom to search for Pokémon anytime, anywhere.  On top of that, Prepaid customers who purchase or renew their Prepaid plans3 during this campaign period will be entitled to receive free RM5 credit to purchase the Unlimited Pokémon GO Pass. For Pokémon fans who are into collectibles, they can also participate in the “Guess the Pokémon” contest on Digi’s Facebook page to win a Pokémon Funko Pop figure worth up to RM60 each.
