Digi adds innovative new self-serve channel through WeChat partnership

SHAH ALAM, 27 January 2015 -- Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("Digi") today announced its partnership with Malaysia's leading social communication application WeChat as part of the telco's new brand focus to provide a consistent and seamless customer experience.

Under the new Digi Easy brand proposition, the company promises consistently good experiences and the best self-serve channels through its widest network of service touchpoints. This now includes WeChat as a new platform through which customers can engage with Digi for account management and enjoy other benefits from the telco.

With the new partnership, customers can now connect to Digi's Official Account on WeChat (ID: DIGI_MY) to perform various transactions such as checking their Digi account status, purchasing Internet quota, gaining access to exclusive Digi rewards and sending feedback to Digi's customer service. These facilities are open to ll WeChat users. "

Currently, all WeChat usage is zero-rated for Digi customers on the Weekly and Monthly Prepaid Mobile Internet data packages. What this means is these users will have unlimited high speed access to WeChat without using up their quota from their subscribed data plan.

This partnership announcement spells out the initial phase of the relationship between Digi and WeChat. As part of the second phase of the partnership, Digi will continue building deeper integration with WeChat that will bring more features to DiGi customers through the Official Account. These will be rolled out over the course of 2015.

To access Digi's Official Account, WeChat users simply need to add the Digi_MY WeChat ID from within the application or scan the QR code [attached] from within the app.
